Intro

My name is Jonathan Romero, and I’m more than happy to show my project on exploring the importance of athletes' mental health and how social media can play a huge role in it. So enjoy as I demonstrate my thought process in this blog.

What made me want to write my magazine about the effects of  social media in athletes' lives is how much I relate to them. In the introduction, I share my life experience as a fútbol player, I didn't have the best teammates which made me leave the team. However our social media team was all about friendship and determination. Seeing this made me realize just how misleading posts can be to the audience.

This made me think, if this something so small can be badly represented, how do the professional athletes handle all the criticisms and post about them. They are well known that they’re life is pretty much documented. I started looking at stories from famous athletes such as Gymnast Simeone Biles how they are heavily criticized simply because they didn’t live up to the audience’s expectations. They don’t care if she has any personal issues, however they were fast to judge. And that is the awareness I want to bring to my article magazine. Because it is important to consider each of these professional athletes' mental health, since at the end of the day they are also human beings with feelings and emotions.
